Last night I had a dream.
I was standing on railroad tracks.
You were there.
And you were talking to me.
Of right and wrong.
Of poetry and ghosts.
Of strange far off places I have never been.
It was quiet.
You asked me for a kiss.
"A walk?” I suggested.
"No, I need no time to clear my head.”
"A dance?” I proposed.
"No, I can't walk away knowing how our bodies move in rhythm to silent music.
I just wanted one last kiss.
I want your lips to release mine.
To say goodbye.”
So we shared in it.
One last kiss.
A sweet entanglement of strong hard aching mouths.
And as you walked away I stood there.
All was quiet again.
And I was at peace.
