yes, that's right blog world. Tonight, I braved what I thought was going to be the painfullest thing I've ever been through. (painfullest, is that a word)
3:15 I left my house, drove to Arlington Heights to pick up Baba.
4:50 Headed southwest to Elgin.
5:50 Arrived 1 hour late. Turned right instead of left on foot. Walked a couple of blocks and FINALLY arrived at Top Notch.
6:30 Began the process. I was so nervous! First of all, I'm a pretty clean cut girl. I mean I have my nose pierced and my tounge was. BUT, a permanent fixture on some body part. What was I thinking? Was I? Robyn and I sat there talking about what I would get. Smoked a few cigarettes to try to calm my nerves. Met Tim, my artist and lost all ability to be nervous. He was great! He told me that my drawing was pretty impossible to do on my foot where I wanted it, so we started discussing other options.
My shoulder is what we decided upon and went in to print up the design off the net. (Nicky, I hope you didn't copyright your drawing, cause I used it tonight.)
I sat down in that chair thinking to myself...this is really going to hurt. BUT, then it began...and it didn't hurt. It felt like someone scraping at my back, or more so, like a dull razor when you shave your legs. Well, until he had to do the fill in parts. And then, it hurt a little more, but NOTHING like I thought it would. So blogworld...say hello to my new tattoo!

45 minutes later...oh how I wish I had my camera for Robyn to take pictures of the process (next time for sure)...it was finished and Tim was telling me what I needed to do to take care of it. We paid (an arm and a leg) and then left to go have ourselves one of 6 cocktails. I'm so very pleased with Tim's work!!! I have to go take care of it now though so wish me luck with sleeping...
I'll take a better picture tomorrow and post it. Night all.....

no no no anonymous....smoking bad for me...not baaaad kristen!!!
Brandon says "Your tatoo looks like an octopus that got six of his legs cut off." Then he flashes that cute little smirk of his and sticks his tongue out at you.
SO is it like a representation of Father, Son, Holy Spirit wrapped around all the peeps in the world??? maybe you said it somewhere...sometimes I just scan blogs...sorry...
I had someone ask me..I think yesterday...so why do you have a tatoo? Did you think it was cool or something...Is that why you got it? (I infered a condescending tone) Yet I just told them why I did it...Geez I wish I remember who asked me that...It seemed like oh it is such a trendy thing to do and I was being judged for going with the flow...I got it 13+years ago!!! (Ok guess I had to vent a little)
Thanks for sharing your pix and I hope to see you up close and personal soon!
I just love it. It looks just like nicks drawing.
holy crap! that's nuts! i love it!
Hey lady - that is an AWESOME tattoo! I loved that drawing when you put it on flickr - what a great idea for a tattoo...
That is so funny - I totally remember the day we met you too! I was so jealous you were going to camp and also so glad that you would have the amazing SB2W experience. Maybe I will have to blog about SB2W someday! Romans are red hot... :) Speaking of the above - did you know I have the I'm Third fish tattooed on my ankle?
And Mexico... for sure a huge memory for me was the van sinking deeper and deeper into the sand! and... all of the crying :) Make sure you make it out here to God's country sometime - it would be great to see you!
