Before my alarm went off at 4:12 this morning I was awake. I looked at the clock hoping it was like 2:00 or something, but no. It was 4:03 am. I pushed snooze two times and finally got up, got dressed and left for Starbuck’s. It was only then, after I began driving, that I saw I had a nice text message telling me I was full of Shiza. I guess I am sometimes. And, I can be a big ole' bitch and really wonderful. And, I am driven. I am a driven girl with hopes and dreams bigger than life kind. I also had a voice message from an x. Wowza~What a morning! So yeah, I get to Itasca ten minutes early and there is not a single soul around. 5:00 am is seriously one of my favorite times of the day ever. There is so much quiet. So much peace. And then it begins. The mad-get me my coffee rush. Whoever came up with caffeine has got to be the undying nemesis to several billions of people. I myself am not a coffee drinker so my eyes began to open by making sure everyone left with a smile. :0p that’s me sticking my tounge out cause I’m not sure how else to explain my morning. and cause there I go again, full of shiza. The morning went well…fast…but I wasn’t supposed to be there until 7:30. Guys, when you stay up as late as I do and you have to get up at 4:00 to go to work, you want to start when you get there. Luckily, Kim switched shifts with me and so I opened the store with a bang!
Last night on the way home from sharing a couple wonderful pints of Dopplebock with Jeffery Pelletier, I saw the most beautiful lightening storm! It turned the whole sky a shade of blue green. It was AWESOME! And I have found much solice in the weather lately. Usually I am one to throw a full temper tantrum when it’s raining, but lately, it doesn’t get to me. Today the sun is out in full force challenging me to go running before it goes down, but alas I am at the public library updating my blog.
I leave for Colorado this weekend. It has been almost 10 years since I have been there. It’s a place I used to call home and even thinking about seeing the aspen trees and majestic peaks makes my eyes water. We’ll be spending the weekend in Winter Park. I learned to snowboard there! If there is snow, I may go, just for the hell of it. Oh…I miss skiing so much. I told my dad and sister that I may move there. The person Kristen was created to be needs to be near creation that speaks to her heart. Colorado has always been nicknamed by my family “heaven on earth” and I long for a slice, a day or two, a brief encounter with this heaven. This progressive girl is on an adventure and it continues in Colorado this weekend.
I love this quote and it daily helps put things into perspective for me. "Life is not a destination, but a journey". It almost sounds too Hallmark, but it’s not about arriving…it’s partly about getting to the bottom of things. It’s about the journey towards the center of it all. Today, there is more clarity of thought than normal. Often, I need to think before I act and enjoy the journey a little more. Like going to run…see ya when I get back from Colorado.

From Sara:
Shut up, shut up! I will be heading to God's country myself this weekend. I get in on Sunday afternoon and leave Tuesday night... let me know if we can get together.
Call me... do you still have my numba?
