Today was one of those days where summer just hits you as fully here. First, with the humidity. It was gross out! It hit 100 degrees and it was cloudy...like overcast cloudy. Brandon didn't even go out in search of vanity today and sunbathe!
But, it was also a perfect evening. After like 1:00 this morning!
The temperature dropped at least 10 degrees and the wind started to blow cool air instead of hot.
It was a perfect night for laying out in the night air....just relaxing. Taking in the sounds of ducks on the Fox. And you can make them whisper...I swear. My friend needed to chill...to talk with someone. So, I hung out til we both were ready to fall asleep. It made me miss Kristen's Creek and nights at the River House. Tonight was a night to go swimming even if I would risk getting hives. It was a "Night Swimming" kind of night. Perhaps even a skinny dipping kind of night if you've never done that! I played Eric in Checkers and Lost. I taught Les the ropes behind the bar. I was told by a wonderful Chilean man that I was the most beautiful woman he's seen in the past three days while visiting his son! (this started my work day out fantastically!) Now let's elaborate on this topic for a minute because you see it's not just that he said it, it's that I love hearing words of affirmation. "WHO DOESN'T?" you ask. Well, there are people that it doesn't matter as much to. That's not to say that I am full of insecurites but to more say, words speak HUGE meaning to me. It's my Love Language, if you will. And for those of you that don't know what that means, check it out. It's a fasinating study that helps me understand how to love people better. How to show your friends and loved ones love in the language they speak. Gifts, Time Spent, Touch, Gifts of Service/Help, Words of Affirmation.
It's amazing when you discover someone's language and begin speaking it. That person changes, they soften, they feel loved. Just a topic that is so interesting to me tonight as I try to drift off to sleep. Sweet Dreams cyber blog world....may you be loved as fully as possible in your language and pass it on.
P.S. I heard the coke commercial today again. Oh the joy!
