I'm taking a new class. It's not for school, but for me.
FIRE FIGHTER ONE
What it consists of is 6 weeks Tues. nights 7-10 and Saturdays 8-5 learning the basics behind fire and fire fighting. We will be burning a lot of stuff and putting it out. This includes an entire building, a car, an area of wildland and other interesting things. I will get to train in full gear, SCBA's included, use the hoses, ax pics, carrying techniques, and tests every class period. It is highly intensive and VERY exciting. After this class, I am one step closer to becoming a paid fire fighter. The funny part is I don't think I'll ever actually be one, but I am taking the class to further my knowledge of fire fighting so that I can be the best volunteer out there. Pictures soon to follow...
In other news, I spent all day yesterday up at LANG learning the bottleing process step by step. We bottled 7 palettes worth of beer, over 12,000 bottles of beer! I loved working with the staff and after finishing cleaning up we played a couple of rounds of darts and did some continuing beer education (my favorite!!!) It was a great day of hard work, good people and great beer. Pics to follow soon...
